Program 2: M'goun Adventure Trek
Itinerary
- Day 1: Airport pickup, transfer to the old medina, overnight in a traditional riad.
- Day 2: Early morning transfer via Azilal and Tanant to trek departure. Overnight with locals in Arousse, the Happy Valley.
- Day 3: Hike to the shepherd huts of Aouross. Overnight bivouac. 5 hours of hiking
- Day 4: Ascent to Aghoury, picnic at 3400m pass, descent to Tarkdite plateau. Bivouac.
Elevation +1400m / -400m - Day 5: Summit of M'goun (4067m), the 4th highest mountain in Morocco. Descent to Oulilimt. Bivouac.
Elevation +1200m / -1200m — 9 hours of hiking - Day 6: Hike to the Aflafal spring.
- Day 7: Return to the Happy Valley (Ait Bouguemez), visit Sidi Moussa. Overnight at guesthouse. 6.5 hours of hiking
- Day 8: Return to Marrakech via the Ouzoud Waterfalls.
Accommodation
Double tents with mattresses for bivouac nights. One night in guesthouse (double room or dormitory).
Note: Please bring your own sleeping bag.
Ground Transportation
Minibus or private vehicle transfers to/from the airport and trek start. Luggage transported by mules or camels depending on terrain.
Guidance
Your Guide
Certified Berber guide, fluent in French and English, licensed by the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism.
Cook
Fresh, balanced meals: vegetables, fruits, tagines, couscous, mint tea.
Local Team
Support team with mules for logistics and luggage transport.
Luggage & Weather
Luggage carried by mules. Keep a small backpack with essentials (water bottle, windbreaker, camera).
Weather: Dry in the mountains. Temperature drops 0.5°C per 100m of altitude. Elevations from 1800m to 4000m. Occasional thunderstorms.
