8-Day Adventure through Ait Bouguemez Valley
Day-by-Day Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech. Overnight at a hotel.
- Day 2: Transfer to Ait Bouguemez via Azilal and Tizi n’Ait Bouguemez pass (2200m). 6.5h drive, 260km. Overnight at a guesthouse.
- Day 3: Visit Ahbak and Ansous pastures, terraced fields (maize, wheat, apples, walnuts). 5h walk, 13km. Afternoon rest at the guesthouse.
- Day 4: Hike to Zaouit Oulmzi through apple orchards and walnut groves. 5h walk.
- Day 5: Trek to Lake Izourar surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Return to guesthouse. 6h walk.
- Day 6: Cross Adazene mountain chain (2000m), descend to Ibakaliwene. Lunch in Arbat under walnut trees. Visit dinosaur tracks. 6h walk.
- Day 7: Visit Agouti and the marabout shrine of Sidi Moussa. Breathtaking views. 6.5h walk.
- Day 8: Return to Marrakech via Azilal with a stop at the Ouzoud Waterfalls (110m). End of service.

Climate: The High Atlas has a dry climate with moderate daytime temperatures. Storms are rare, but possible in the evening. Temperature drops 0.4–0.5°C per 100m elevation gain.
Water: We encourage the use of purified water to reduce plastic waste in nature.
Gear: Only a light backpack is needed daily (sweater, windbreaker, water bottle, camera). Your main luggage is transported by mules.
